Honorary title: People’s artist of Russia The singer’s career began at Omsk Musical Theatre immediately following the completion of studies at Saratov Conservatoire. Having gained considerable stage experience there, he moved to Saratov to join SAratov Opera and Ballet in 1988. The artist is equally successful in comic and tragic roles. Since 2002, he also teaches voice at Saratov Conservatoire where he holds the position of associate professor. Throughout the seasons of 2002 and 2004, he took part in the Festival "The 21st Century basses" in Samara, Dubna, Yoshkar-Ola, and Cheboksary. In 2003, Victor Grigoriev’s singing was given high acclaim in the International Opera Conductors Festival in memory of People’s Artist of the USSR Isidor Zak. He has appeared as many as three times in the International Festival “Irina Arkhipova and Vladislav Piavko introduce..." in Yakutsk and Chelyabinsk. His singing was part of the International Festival of Productions for Children in 2003 in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Natalia Satz. A many-time participant in the Annual Sobinov Festival. Among his awards are the Saratov Governor’s Medal “For the Love of Native Land" (2001), and a Letter of Honour from the Regional Ministry of Culture in appreciation of the artist’s contribution to the development of culture in the region (2008). He is member of the board of Saratov Branch of Theatre Union of Russia. A sought-after guest-performer on many an opera venue nationwide.
